Joël Francis: Let the music speak for itself.

Music has always been a part of her life, first through gospel and later through soul, jazz, R&B, and pop.

Being part of something bigger, something greater, is something she has longed for for as long as she can remember. And that is what music means to her. The feeling of coming home, yet at the same time belonging to something that transcends even yourself. She started writing poetry and song lyrics at the age of 13. And she hasn’t stopped since. Music has always been a part of her life, first through gospel and later through soul, jazz, R&B, and pop. Artists like Snoh Aalegra, SZA, Victoria Monet, HER, and Jazmine Sullivan (to name just a few) are a major source of inspiration for Joël Francis. She admires these artists immensely because their music speaks directly to her heart. That is what she wants for her music as well—for it to go straight from her heart to the listener. So that, even if it’s just one person, that person also feels like they’re part of something. This is certainly not the last you’ll hear from Joël Francis, because her journey has only just begun.

After a two-year creative hiatus, she returns with a fresh voice and vision, weaving themes of self-discovery, inner peace, and love into her songs. She draws inspiration from R&B, soul, and neo-soul. Her sound feels both deeply personal and universally relatable, taking listeners on a journey filled with connection and authenticity.
