Cézanne: Dutch pop that puts you in a good mood
With her warm blend of Dutch-language pop, folk, and cabaret, she performs songs about everyday life
Honest, disarming, and with a touch of humor—Cézanne is a singer-songwriter who sings about life as it is. No grand dramas, no heavy life stories, but songs about the rough edges of everyday life, about what we say and what we mean.
You could see the band shine on March 29 in the finals of NEKKA, the premier competition for Dutch-language music, where they won the audience award. In the fall of 2025, her long-awaited debut album Komt wel goed was released, a collaborative effort featuring no fewer than 30 young, talented musicians.
With a warm blend of Dutch-language pop, folk, and cabaret, Cézanne performs songs about everyday life. She offers a glimpse into her life and shares her insights in a personal and sometimes humorous way. Together with her band—four fantastic musicians from the classical and jazz worlds—she guarantees a powerful live show. Following their win of the audience award at the NEKKA competition, the release of their EP *Komt wel goed* last year, and their latest single *Meikever* in May, they are now excited to present their newest show, *Komt wel Goed*.
Her single “Koekenstad” has been played on Radio 1, and she has already appeared on the show “Benebene.” She performs on a wide variety of stages, from intimate living room concerts to larger festival grounds such as the Gentse Feesten and Theater aan Zee. She has also performed at various cultural centers and theaters, including a show with Herman Van Veen!
Whether she’s playing for a handful of people or a whole crowd, Cézanne sings just as she speaks: openly, warmly, and without beating around the bush. Backed by an energetic band, she’s guaranteed to leave a lasting impression.
